Hi, Friends!

My name is Shalicia, and before I tell you about what I do, I’d like give you a little background. From 1995 to 2023 I worked as an Early Childhood Educator, caring for and educating children (and their families) from birth to 3, eventually up to age 12. If you ask me what my favorite age group was it was hands down those itty bitty little baby loves. I’ve also had an affinity for photography since the first time I picked up a camera as a child, and my families have long since loved the photographs I’ve taken of their children. When I decided to launch my business, it was the perfect duo made up of my love for children and my love for photography... but something was missing - my business name. It didn’t take me long, because my heart spoke and I named my business after the love of my life - my dog, Arrow.

“Arrow Star” is a nickname given to him by one of the ladies who worked at his daycare. I had never met her, and didn’t know she knew my puppy, but one day she saw us walking in and exclaimed, “Arrow Star!” I was so touched that not only did she know him by name, she gave him a nickname! She explained that he was so sweet and so loved, that if he had a middle name, it should be Star. That was enough to bring tears to my eyes as a new puppy mama! I combined the name into one, and turned the perfect duo into the perfect trio.

Back to what I do! I am a friendly and fun local boutique portrait photographer serving the Madison, WI area. I specialize in child, family, and pet boutique portraiture, as well as business portraits and corporate events. It brings me profound joy to be able to freeze invaluable moments in time and then present them to you in a meaningful way; and it would be my great honor to capture and preserve your memories by creating wall art or albums for your home.
